On January 18, 2019 professional songwriters Mark Irwin, Victoria Banks and Jason Duke kicked off the second season of The Hit Songwriter Invitational with selected songwriters Travis Smith, Joe Hanson, Tyler Madden, Chris Garner, Judy Klass and Jeremy Michael.
The event was hosted by Nashville Cool and took place at Montgomery Bell State Park just outside of Nashville.
The snowy Tennessee weather didn’t stand in the way of the songwriting teams who co-wrote 9 songs over the weekend. Sarah Schumacher from Disney Publishing joined the group on Sunday for a live performance of the newly written songs.
“It never ceases to amaze me,” said event host Nancy Deckant. “You take 9 great songwriters, get them out of their daily routine, put them together in nature and let them create…great songs always get written.”
Jeremy Michael received the “Shure Thing Award” and was presented with a Shure SM58 microphone. Event sponsor Sheree Spoltore provided memberships to Global Songwriters Connection for the participants.
Sponsors supporting the event including SHURE, The Workshop, Nashville Rising Song, “The Real Row” Blog, The Producer’s Chair.
